Violin op.59,
after Guarneri Del Gesu's "Ole Bull" 1744

Instrument description

This violin is built after Guarneri del Gesu's "Ole Bull" from 1744, named after the Norwegian violin virtuoso Ole Bull, to whom the instrument belonged. The firm Hill described it as the most characteristic masterpiece of Guarneri del Gesu. Today it is held in the collection of the Chi-Mei Culture Foundation in Taiwan.

The instrument is finished with an oil varnish in a fresh, newly made style. Ondřej Nevoral plays the violin.
