Violin op.12,
after Antonio Stradivari's "Mediceo" 1716

This violin is inspired by the "Mediceo" model from 1716 — Antonio Stradivari's "G" form, on which he built many of his most famous violins of that period. The instrument was likely made as a replacement for a lost violin from the original set commissioned by the Medici court in Florence at the end of the 17th century. Since the 1860s it has belonged to the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory and is displayed at the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence alongside other instruments from the Medici family collection.

This violin took part in two violin making competitions: Mittenwald 2010 (22nd place) and the Étienne Vatelot competition in Paris (16th place).
